Identity Theft Protection Act
July 25th, 2005
Last thursday a bill was introduced before the US senate that would hopefully give consumers more protection over their personal data. The bill looked to especially address the growing concern of identify theft and the common availablilty of personal information.
If passed, the bill would allow consumers to freeze their credit reports to keep unathorized users from accessing credit data. With the bipartisan support the bill looks like it has, it should pass unimeded through congress.
